Did You Know?

When backing up your trailer, put your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel and turn in the direction that you want to go. Most put their hand on top and try to go in the opposite direction.

When inserting your jig heads into tube baits, put a little scent on the top of the jig head. This will allow the jig to slide in a little easier and also add a little scent to your bait.

Adding a small piece of cotton batten inside of your tube before you slide the jig inside will hold scent and allow it to disperse over a longer period of time.

Water proof storage boxes are good for keeping out water, but at the same time, they will hold water in, so you should make a habit after fishing in damp weather to open the boxes to air them out

When fishing you should never leave any spots that you are having success on when the bite starts to slow without fishing a tube or senko. Sometimes that's all it takes to turn the big ones on!

Blood knot is one of the best knots to use to join 2 lines of approximately the same diameter for using for a leader line.

When using a Driftsock you should always tie a line on the tip of the sock. This makes it a lot easier to bring your sock in when it's time to move. Also, this makes a good safety line for if the main line ever lets go, you don't loose your driftsock.

When fishing a flipping jig you should spread your weed guard out like a broom it does not seem to affect the weedlessness of the jig and the fish seem to prefer it.

When fishing in salt water or with baits that are salted, you should always wipe down your rods and reels with a damp cloth to keep them from pitting. This should also make your rods and reels last longer.

Always check your hooks for sharpness, even when they are new out of the box. Using the right size file, for touching your hooks up is important. There are many files out there, make sure you pick the correct file for the job.

When using Suspended baits, you can change one of the hooks to the next size up. This will give it a little movement when it’s suspending, which in turn will trigger fish to strike. I believe that this actually give me better hook-ups.

When using braided line, make sure you have the right rod to match. It should have a softer tip then when using Mono-filament. This will help you not miss as many fish, also it will help prevent you from tearing the hook out of the fish’s mouth.

Polymer knot is one of the few knots recommended for tying braid line, and it is also a very good knot for tying small to midsized lures.
